Kiel blüht auf!
The spring event Kiel blüht auf! immerses Kiel's city centre and Holtenauer Straße in a sea of flowers and welcomes spring with a colourful programme of craft activities and outdoor sports. The open Sunday takes place on April 282024 from 1 - 6 pm.
Floristry and culinary
On the squares in Kiel's city centre you will find all kinds of spices from fruit teas for the colder days to barbecue spices to ring in the balmy summer evening. The various stalls offer a wide range of delights and of course you have the opportunity to feast, snack and shop extensively.
Programme 2023
The FLENS Beach Tour is back at Holstenplatz to open the beach volleyball season with various games. On Saturday, you can try out bikes from the Küstenrad shop and from my Boo on Holstenplatz. A little further on, on Asmus-Bremer-Platz, you can discover countless colourful plants and flowers from Pflanzenhof Paulwitz, and thanks to "Buschi bringt's!" your shopping will arrive home emission-free by cargo bike. Sports will continue with the support of DECATHLON and a mini sports park on the Alter Markt. We can also look forward to the Kehden-Küter-Kiezfest this year, in keeping with the motto "Kiel kann Kiez". In Schloßstraße there will be various hands-on activities on the theme of gardening and sustainability. The varied programme will be rounded off by a giant swing on Holstenfleet. For the inquisitive, the Barockoko History Workshop offers guided tours of the city with a difference.

Kiels first "Kiezgröße", derHeimathafen in the upper Holstenstraße, invites you to a wine tasting under the name "Kieztrauben-Weinausschank". Come by Kiel's address for pleasure and joie de vivre and taste delicious flower-power organic wines.
With street food offers, a bar and various DJs, the Kehden-Küter-Kiez awaits you on Saturday from 1 p.m. - 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 p.m. - 6 p.m. for the Kiezfest.

With stories specially adapted to Kiel, such as the "Flower Girl of Kiel" or the "Great Spring Festival of the Dwarves", our storyteller connects the young and old listeners in an exciting new way with the city and its wonderful inhabitants, flowers and trees. She accompanies her stories sonorously with love and ocarina flutes and other small instruments, as well as with props from nature that appeal to all the senses.

On Sunday, the 2nd official Cinemare Ocean Parade will take place under the motto #StandUpForOurOcean! It will be loud, colorful and cheerful to draw attention to marine conservation. On land, the event will start from the Welcome Center Kieler Förde to the Sailingcamp at the Kiellinie. On water, SUPers can start at the Kiel Yacht Club and make their way to the sailing camp.
Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. each day, all children are invited to have their faces painted with springtime designs. The offer takes place on the Asmus-Bremer-Platz. We look forward to seeing you!
