The Ocean Race Europe
From 6 to 10 August 2025, The Ocean Race Europe can be experienced up close in Kiel. Visitors can expect a five-day water and land programme with cultural, sporting and environmental protection activities to take part in and experience - free of charge and outdoors. Following the successful Fly-By event, Kiel will once again be at the centre of top international sailing in 2025: our state capital is proud to even be the starting port for this exciting, challenging regatta.

It's time for a harbor cruise
Discover Kiel from its most maritime side: the tour starts at the pier directly opposite Kiel Central Station. From here, the entire Kiel Fjord is explored on the harbor cruise. Passing Kiel's landmarks, such as the striking cranes of the former HDW shipyard and the buildings of the Seefischmarkt, the fjord steamer sets course for the white sandy beach of Laboe.

SEALEVEL: a fascinating journey through the oceans
Experience at SEALEVEL how beautiful and exciting the sea is, but also the challenges it faces. In the SEALEVEL, you are at eye level with the sea. Jump in and let yourself drift or dive deeper and learn to understand the sea. Have fun on your journey from the coast through the ocean to the deep sea.

Hop-on Hop-off City tour
Convertible feeling in the sun and sheltered in the rain - Kiel is best experienced in a red double-decker bus. From the upper deck you can enjoy panoramic views of the fjord, Kiel Canal and harbour. There are eight stops: Hop-on or hop-off. With an audio guide and live commentary, you can experience fresh sea air and maritime flair.

Excursion with the MS Stadt Kiel to ‘The Ocean Race Europe’
Be there live when the Ocean Race Europe starts on 10 August in the Kiel Fjord - from the water, on board the ‘MS Stadt Kiel’! Experience the IMOCAs' dock-out show and the start of the race up close. Enjoy a welcome drink, a Mediterranean buffet as well as coffee and cake in a maritime atmosphere. Embarkation is from 12 noon at the Seegarten jetty, returning at around 5 pm. An unforgettable day at sea awaits you!
