Would you like to be a little bit historical? Then Holstenstraße, Germany's oldest pedestrian street, is the place for you. As early as 1953, Kiel's inhabitants and visitors strolled along this street and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere with numerous cafés, selected specialty shops, small boutiques and large department stores. The regular organization of traditional events and markets makes shopping in the pedestrian zone a real experience.

The covered shopping centre in the center of Kiel offers the latest trends in women's and men's fashion, as well as a wide selection of other specialty shops. Need a break while shopping? Sophienhof's Food Court is ready to satisfy your hunger and quench your thirst.

Kieler Foerde Welcome Center welcomes you with information and offers in the foerde town. Here you will get insider tips for the perfect stay in Kiel. In addition to travel literature and postcards, you will also find many attractive gifts and souvenirs for your loved ones at home in the Welcome Center's shop. 

Opening hours of the Welcome Center Kieler Foerde: 

Mo. - Fr. 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Sa. 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

A relatively new and attractive phenomenon has now come to the inner city: the Pop-up Pavilion (German). Here, different start-ups, artists and project leaders will showcase their innovative work and ideas every week. Until December 2019, there will always be something new to experience, which not only surprises, but also invites participation and discussion!

Kiel offers over 9500 parking spaces in the center and the surrounding area. In the public parking lots you can park for free for 30 minutes. In addition, Kiel has now also received a refund system, which applies to the guests who park and shop in Kiel. If you have a valid parking ticket, you will receive a discount among all shops that are part of Parken Plus.
